driftPRIVACY & DATA

YOUR GAME. YOUR CHOICES.

Privacy, with room to play.

Notice version 2026-10-25-v2 · Effective 23 October 2026

Drift is operated by Lakhina Couture. You can play without an account or optional measurement. We do not collect your email, phone number, precise location, contacts, advertising ID or device model for sponsor reports, and we do not sell personal data.

Optional Google player accounts

Continue with Google is optional. Firebase Authentication, provided by Google, processes your Google account identity, name, email, photo and authentication sessions. Drift stores the verified Firebase account ID and per-mode best scores, lines and duration to sync records across your devices. Your photo and display details come from Firebase. Account data is kept until you delete the account. Unfinished games and settings remain locally separated for each player. These records are self-reported personal bests, not a verified competitive leaderboard.

Sign-in does not grant marketing consent and account IDs are not joined to sponsor reports. Firebase runs only authentication; this integration does not initialise Google Analytics. Google processes authentication data under its own privacy and retention policies. Firebase privacy information.

Your player: sign in, export records, sign out or delete account. Account deletion requires recent Google sign-in, removes the Firebase player and active synced records, and clears this player’s data in the requesting browser. Other devices clear the deleted account’s local data when they reconnect and learn that the account is gone. A hashed deletion marker expires after one hour and is removed on the next account request to prevent in-flight requests recreating deleted data. Provider security logs/backups follow their separate retention schedules.

Optional measurement

If you opt in, we set a random first-party cookie to recognise this browser for up to 30 days. We store its hash, your purpose choices, notice version and timestamps. Event data may include game mode, starts, finishes, capped self-reported scores, sponsor views and sponsor clicks. Analytics improves Drift; sponsor measurement provides aggregate engagement reports to the Drift owner. Report exports contain no player IDs and suppress groups with fewer than 10 players.

Under-18s and players who do not confirm adulthood are excluded from optional measurement. No exact birth date is requested. Playing remains available.

Both choices are optional and independent. We do not use these choices for email marketing or external advertising audiences.

Delete my Drift data

The controls below remove this browser’s consent record and measurement events, and only the current player’s local progress, records, settings and hints. To delete a Google player and its synced records, use Your player → Delete my account. Optional measurement on other browsers must be deleted separately.

Your run and records will be permanently reset after confirmation. Previously downloaded aggregate reports cannot be recalled. We do not preserve event-level rollups after you delete your data; future reports are recomputed.

Scope, processors and hosting

This notice covers the desktop website, mobile website and installed web app. Drift uses Sites hosting with Cloudflare-backed database and file storage. Providers may process request metadata such as IP addresses for delivery and security under their own practices. Administrative owner sign-in is separate from anonymous player measurement. Processing regions and any cross-border transfers depend on the hosting provider; this notice does not promise India-only storage. A future native app must disclose new identifiers, SDKs and permissions before using them.

What stays on your device

Unfinished games, preferences and gesture hints are saved locally for each player. Signed-in players’ per-mode personal bests also sync to their Google player account; guest records stay local. Essential caching supports offline play. Withdrawing optional measurement does not erase game records.

Retention and security

Measurement events and inactive consent records are retained for up to 30 days in the active database, with expired records removed on the next service use. Admin activity logs are kept for 90 days. Access is restricted to the owner, and data travels over HTTPS. Hosting providers process requests and may keep operational security logs or backups under their own retention schedules; the game’s deletion control removes active application records, not independent provider security logs.

Questions, correction and grievances

Change your purpose choices above at any time. To request access, correction, erasure, raise a grievance, or ask about nominating someone to exercise your rights, email hello@lakhinacouture.com with the subject “Drift privacy request”. We aim to acknowledge requests within 7 days and respond within 30 days, subject to verification and applicable legal requirements. See Requests & grievances for escalation, nomination and language assistance. Do not email passwords or identity documents. A browser without its privacy cookie cannot be matched to an old measurement record; such inactive records expire automatically.

Sponsors and external links

Sponsored cards are clearly labelled and do not affect game rules. Following a brand link opens that brand’s website, which has its own privacy policy. The game does not send your Drift participant identifier to that website.

Notice version 2026-10-25-v2 · Updated 25 October 2026. Optional collection begins only after an adult’s affirmative choice. The player game remains public; owner tools use separate sign-in.

Delete local player data?

This clears only the current player’s saved game and records in this browser, plus this browser’s measurement data. It does not delete synced Google account records. Delete your Google player account here.
